XM is better for NASCAR considering they own exclusive rights, but in
2007, SIRIUS takes over and will carry each race as well as a designated
NASCAR channel.

The short answer is, "If you want NASCAR during 2005 and 2006, you'll
need XM. If you want NASCAR between 2007 and 2012, you'll need
Sirius".

XM radios are getting ready to get cheap. They're giving them away at
JCPenneys if you buy $100 worth of clothes. You can get one & switch
to Sirius in 2007 without laying out much money.

What happens if a recipient of a free radio does not subscribe to a
"basic" XM subscription? Just what IS a basic XM subscription, is it
one month? 6 months? or a year?

What is a Basic subscription?

What takes place if a BASIC subscription is not taken up after the
radio is received?

XM's 'basic subscription' is 12.95 a month. A basic subscription is
their base fee since they also offer premium services, namely Playboy
Radio.

That's a good question.. Those restrictions should be disclosed.

You get the service for 3 months, the unit comes pre-activated (as it
states).

After 3 months the unit goes dead and you have a doorstop unless you
want to pay the basic fee.

As far as I know there are no additional rules, you could walk away
after the 3 months is up if you wanted to.

As to Jazz, I don't listen to much, other than the Blues channels. I
generally prefer XM's music because of the deeper playlists; I would
assume that is true for Jazz, as well -- more eclectic playlists.

Sirius tends to be more like FM but without commercials. You tend to
get more "hits", but along with that, of course, comes more repetition.

I'd recommend you take the free subscription to both services 3-day
trials online. You can then judge which music channels you prefer.

There is a free listen on XMradio.com as well..

But again you seem to ignore the fact that Xm has a huge lead on a
playlist than Sirius. Sure they have an "elvis 24/7" channel.. but
only Lisamarie or an elvis impersonator will listen..

XM has the obscure niche channels..

Plus the "Hits" channels for Country, Rock, Pop, R&B, rap.

I looked at both... and prefer to lsiten to XM over Sirius any day..
Plus I have near Zero dropouts except for going though a tunnel.. even
AM cuts out in the middle of it.. local FM stations can hold it. But
with the buffer of the radio i can get just past mid-way though it
before I lose it, and then pick it up second i am out of it.

This was already established. I was giving the 7-day trial because
Frontmed said there were 3-day trials. If I'm going to take the time
for a trial I'd sooner have 7 days than 3.

If I knew of an XM 7-day trial I'd have link that one too.
