XM canned ABC News & Talk this week-.

I subscribed because "Bob Brinker's Money Talk" is often pre-empted on
local radio. I've been a listener since 1992. XM offered lower
prices for 3 months, then 3 months free. I declined, as I use my IPod
and Internet radio for music, I don't care about the rest of the
programming.

Dumped XM, subscribed to Bob's paid podcast.

Oh, well...

Oh, well...
They didn't cancel Bob Brinker, they just moved him to another
channel...
He's now on America Right...

They cancelled the live, fully scheduled program.

He is now no longer live, but delayed an hour, and subject to Saturday
pre-emption by college sports. My favorite part of the show is the
4p-5p ET Saturday hour that contains his comments of the week and the
opportunity to call in and discuss.

What if I want to comment on a topic? Pretty tough when the show is
delayed an hour.

The local AM "free" radio station carries the show subject to
pre-emption by MLB and NCAA sports. That's why I got XM, to reliably
hear the show, live.

I completely understand. If XM ever got rid of Coast to Coast AM and
Rolley James (sp?) on Talk 165, I'd drop XM also.

I tuned in to channel 155 ("Take Five") and discovered Dr Laura
hogging most of the time, either in original boadcasts or re-plays.
She should have been left over on the conservative channel where she
belonged.

In fact, I think it's time for another complaint e-mail to XM radio.

"Laura Shitslinger" is NOT a "Doctor" at all....
Just a tired old hag forcing her personal views on the people foolish enough
to even think of listening to her tired old drivel....

From her own web site:

BS, Biological Sciences, SUNY Stonybrook, Long Island, NY

MS, M Phil, Ph.D. (Physiology), Columbia University (College of
Physicians and Surgeons), NY

Post-Doctoral Certification in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling,
Human Relations Center, University of Southern California, Los Angeles

Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Counselor (MFCC), California,
formerly in private practice for 12 years

Past member of the Biological Sciences faculty of the University of
Southern California (five years) and the graduate Psychology faculty
of Pepperdine University (eight years)

UCLA and UC Irvine Extension course instructor

*****

Notice her degree is in Physiology only and her Post-Doctoral work is
just a Certification in Marriage, Family and Child Counseling.

Don't get me wrong. I, in no way, subscribe to or accept her
qualifications as a basis with which to give out the miserable advice
she does. There are times when I have Take Five (channel 155) on from
my last XM session when I put my radio on again .... and there's "Dr"
Laura. Last week, I heard her light into a young mother who had just
suffered a miscarriage, and her viciousness was appalling. I couldn't
change the channel fast enough.

I DID e-mail XM and Take Five about having this woman on their radio
line-up AT ALL. I have not yet heard back.
