Dear NG:

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who really doesn't like these
"Dedicated to one artist" channels.

First. I think it was The Rolling Stones, then The Who, The Grateful Dead,
Bruce Springsteen and now
The Rolling Stones again.

I don't care how much of a fan you are of any particular artist. Don't you
get kind of tired of them after
say 30 or 45 minutes?

Six months of Bruce Springsteen?

I think the "Dedicated artist" channels would serve the subscribers better
if they rotated the artist every week
or so.

Exactly. Even artist of the month would be better (though still more than
anyone should want).

Bingo! I like The Boss and Mick and the boys as well as anyone, but a
whole channel devoted to any one artisit is a tad too much.

The worst one is the U2 channel, otherwise known as New Wave 22.

I know some people who like the Bridge on Sirius and don't understand
why it's been taken over by Springsteen. Is this approach really a
money maker?

I used to like Elton John music, but after having XM for over a year
now, I am sick of hearing his songs. The biggest downside to a
dedicated channel like that (XM has Led Zeppelin) is. if you have
flagged your unit to alert you when your favorite artist's song comes
on, and then they dedicate a channel to that artist, it will be
driving you crazy with all the alerts.
