I tried doing a firmware update. No luck. Time is still slow by one hour.

Anyone got some whay of setting the clock in this thing? There is no
Setting for the clock only, just the Time Zone, as it gets the time off the
satellite.

Same problem with Airware. I checked the manual and there is no way to
change time other than timezone.
I live in New York and changed the time zone to the Atlantic Time Zone.
Just change to a time zone that's
an hour latter. Its only a kludge, but it worked.

The Airware has no flash update capability.

Hopefully it works.

Yeah, the Tao has the same issue. Is this really a problem?

Could be if you have the abilty to program channels to record.

Seems the only solution is to change time zones (which is kind'a stupid).
They need, or should have posted, a firmware fix beforehand.

Thats true. I record random blocks of music so I don't really use the clock.
The only stupid thing is daylight savings.
People have been trying to do away with it for years & what does this
asshole do? Extend it. Woohoo.

Ummmmmmm, by "asshole" are you referring to Bush? Just to make things
clear, Bush didn't do it--the new daylight savings time was signed
into law in 2005 by CONGRESS, not by the president.

Jeez, everything is Bush's fault, huh?

Civics 101, folks -

Congress passes a bill, but the President signs it into law. Of course he
can also veto it, but President Bush DID sign the bill into law - no two
ways about it. So I guess that by not vetoing the bill and affixing his
signature to it, in the end it was the President's fault...

Anyone else here remember Schoolhouse Rock's "I'm Just a Bill" on Saturday
mornings?

Sure he signs it into law, but if he had vetoed it he'd have been
blasted for "going against the will of the people". After all, if it
gained enough support to be passed in Congress, then that's the people
speaking, right? He can't go against the will of the people, right?

Not necessarily. I think Bush is between a rock & a hard place. At
this point, no matter what he does, somebody will see it as "wrong".

The problem isn't going against "the will of the people" -- I think we
can find enough instances where Congress passed laws that had little to
do with "the will of the people". Is it the will of the people to have
the income tax structure we have? Are you (or most other people) in
favor of the demise of the original Social Security system as intended,
because it was used/abused to include things that should have been
dealt with in ways other than depleting the Social Security coffers?
But, whether a particular bill is in "the will of the people" or not is
irrelevant to passage. If a president vetoes a bill that Congress
wants, it can be run through Congress again & passed without the
president having any say in the resulting passage.

1. What "asshole" are you referring to? Congress? Hopefully, you
realize that Congress made the decision.

2. I've not been aware of any significant group of people wanting to
do away with DST, and in fact, I would certainly support having it
year-round, although, I know some see a downside to that.

Yeah. I got an answer.

XM Radio released some firmware updates doe some of their models today to
fix the issue.

It did, and all back to normal.
