XM Roady Problem

Hello:

For anyone using a Delphi XM Roady in their car.:

Mine has stopped working, and the screen is totally blank.
Not too sharp with the electrical stuff.

Is there a fuse in these units ?
Or, a power reset somewhere ?

Any thoughts on what might be wrong would be most appreciated.

BTW: These units have a history of being pretty reliable, or... ?

Thanks,
Bob

I'm assuming this is an original Roady and not a Roady II, etc. I owned one
and when faced with a similar situation came up scratching my head much like
you. When I pulled the radio apart, I couldn't find anything that looked
user replaceable. Probably like you I bought it early in the product's cycle
therefore, I spent over a $100 for it. My suggestion: (1) if you like the
roady and have some accessories that warrant staying with the roady, shop
ebay; (2) if you don't want to spend a fortune to stay with XM, shop ebay
for a XM2Go. I have the Tao unit and am pretty pleased with it. The Pioneer
and Delphi units are identical and also good. (3) Go new, after all it's
only money. There are a couple web sites to check out for assistance
xm411.com & xmfan.com being the best but you probably know that already.
Good luck.

It may be the cigarette plug on the end of the roady power cord may have
a fuse in it?

Suspect the cigarette lighter plug, it has a regulator in it. Either it
failed or the cord is bad near the connector.
