Sirius receiver and antenna question.
Lately my signal along the same path every day is getting choppy.
I have a pioneer head with the pioneer interface and the small squareish
antenna that came with the unit.

Before I buy a new antenna and run the wiring what antenna for Sirius car
would get the most signal gain?

My wifes car has the INV2 car only receiver with FM modulator, it came with
the large round disc style antenna and when I drive it along the same path I
get no loss of signal.

Thanks for your help.

Ohh and by the way "Hey Mel keep Bubba and the gang!"

I would check for loose antenna, power, and audio cable connections or
perhaps a kinked cable first.

Coyote,

But why is only in 1 location of the parkway that has some heavy coverage
from the trees?
There is a loss of signal, head unit says no signal..
If I shift lanes from right to left I get the signal.

Seems the antenna just does not have a great amount of gain.

I have had a Amateur Radio license for 18 years and have built my on home
brew antennas, so I have a small amount of knowledge with signal reception
and gain. I use to have a dipole style beam for communications that was the
best.
So I tend to believe it was poorly designed antenna and was looking to get
feed back on the best gain antenna possible for Sirius.

Thanks for your help,

Xanth

I don't think there is such a thing as a "high-gain" SDARS antenna. I
have a SIGMA and it works real well (and doesn't look like a
hockey-puck on the roof).
