I've just set up a new receiver and it's XM ready. However, my apartment
faces due north at Yonge and Bloor in Toronto, Canada. I don't want to buy
equipment and service only to find out I can't get reception from any XM or
Sirius ground repeaters.

1) I'm looking for someone with a portable satellite radio to come over to
my place and see if they can get service. I'll pay $20 for five minutes of
your time. I'd like to test out both XM and Sirius reception so I'm looking
for two people unless one of you happens to own both types. Interested?
Email me back.

2) As I mentioned, my receiver is XM ready. Since the receiver interface for
XM and Sirius is different, I'm wondering if anyone has heard of a converter
for Sirius to XM connection?

Thanks.

Why not just run down to Future Shop or wherever and buy one of each?
You don't have to activate them to make sure you can receive a
signal. Unactivated radios will still get one channel so that should
suffice to determine signal strength at your apartment. Just return
whichever one you don't want or both within 14 days and get your money
back. Since you're not activating them until you determine that they
work, you don't have to worry about cancellation, activation fees,
etc.
