Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the NAACP were quick to condemn Don
Imus for his comments. Where were they when the Duke Lacross players
were subjected to a year of hell regarding the accusations of a black
female that lied? Sharpton, Jackson and the NAACP condemned the Duke
players all year and now that they are proven innocent beyond a
shadow
of a doubt, {as they said all along} we hear nothing. Why don't they
condemn the rappers that make racist comments on every recording they
make? These rappers seem more threatening and inappropriate than
anything Imus ever said.

Below are a few samples of racist rap lyrics and their producers.
These are MTV sponsored bands. Go to any grocery store and look for
Vibe, Source, XXL or any other hip-hop magazine and you will find
these performers.

I think what Imus said is pretty scummy, but I think what you hear
from many rap artists is pretty scummy too. The difference is, he was
scummy on public airwaves and he has advertizers to keep happy.

Rap artrists aren't held accountable because their CDs sell. They do
not have to keep advertizers happy. They just have to sell records.
They are accountable only to themselves and their record companies.
MSN didn't fire Imus so much as MSN's advertizers fired Imus. If
Kellogg's Cereals, or Chevy, or IBM are sponsoring Imus's show, they
are not going to want to be associated with that kind of crap. When a
rapp artist is offensive, there's no one to say "I'm going to pull my
advertizing."
