RIP XM's "Audio Visions" -- one thing I miss

"Spa" plays mellow music, like "Audio Visions" did. But "Audio
Visions" played more international (outside North America) music, and
their station-identification announcers all had foreign accents.
"Audio Visions" also had poetry. In short, the channel had character,
and now it's been replaced with a sanded-down version, "Spa."

As of today, all the channels on XM that I've liked, that had a true
international flavor -- World View, Audio Visions, The System -- are
either online-only or are off the air. BLEEP Mel K.

I'm going to miss Gurmit, who did station-ID and most of the poetry
segments. She had an interesting voice.

The little station IDs, the breaks with the poetry or visualizations
and such where the REASON that I got my XM Online subscription. I
wanted to be able to listen to Audio Visions when I was at home. I
have Sirius in my car and I don't like Spa73 for all the reasons you
mentioned. When I used to have DirectTV, XM was the music provider
and that's how I got introduced to Audio Visions and I loved it.
Spa73 has never been an equivalent and it's really a shame that they
just ditched the whole Audio Visions format and took on Spa instead.
Because of that I went on to the XM site this evening and canceled my
subscription with them. I'd rather listen to my own CD/MP3 collection
at home than watered down drivel.
